Openness to new ideas and the courage to embrace change

At first glance, the method of psychodrama may seem unusual or even strange—if only because of its name. The same is often true of the most personal aspects of one’s own humanity—aspects that may have long been kept secret or are even unwanted.

Especially in a society that seems to constantly demand conformity to rules, norms, and expectations, safe spaces where one can be a little off-kilter are rare—and therefore particularly valuable.

In my therapeutic work, I strive to create a space where clients can develop new ways of dealing with their own unique characteristics, become increasingly comfortable with them, and perhaps even come to recognize them as personal qualities.

Building on the therapeutic conversation, incorporating the body—as well as action-oriented methods inspired by improvisational theater—can help clients break free from the familiar confines of ingrained patterns. The focus is on developing new perspectives, exploring new ways of acting, and strengthening self-efficacy in dealing with the challenges of one’s own life.
